At 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, April 30, the Wellsboro Community Concert Association is presenting sensational step dancing and fiddle playing by The Fitzgeralds on the Coolidge Theatre stage at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
The Fitzgeralds include sisters, Kerry and Julie and their brother Tom who are all champion fiddlers and award-winning step dancers. They grew up in Ontario, Canada.
Their one-of-a-kind performance features singing, high-energy fiddling and mind-blowing step dancing as well as original arrangements and compositions. The three will be joined for this show by guitarist Kyle Waymouth.
They have developed their art form to include various styles of fiddle music from Celtic to jazz, bluegrass, French-Canadian and pop and their dance routines to include other variations, such as tap and Irish dancing.
The three siblings fuse traditional and modern styles of fiddle and dance to create their own sound and style. Their creativity and passion for experimentation have resulted in a groovy new sound and look that appeals to all ages.
The Fitzgeralds have performed on tour with Natalie McMaster, Nathan Carter, Cherish the Ladies, StepCrew, Lunasa and more.
Admission is $25 for an adult and $5 for a student, 13 to 18. Children 12 and under will be admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.
