Empire State Development Announcements, Including Notice of CFA Open

 

Allegany County, along with the rest of New York State, received news earlier this week from Empire State Development and the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council. Headlines received included opening of the CFA grants portal, an information session on the Restore NY program, and announcement of a new Western New York based International Trade Manager for Global NY. 

Opening of the CFA Grants Portal Round 12 of the Consolidated Funding Application was announced today, allowing regions to apply for funding from over 30 state programs. Restore NY Event Announcement Restore NY is a program designed to support local governments with economic development efforts and revitalization of neighborhoods across New York State. Cities, towns, and villages are eligible and encouraged to apply for funding to support projects that include demolition, deconstruction, rehabilitation, or reconstruction of vacant, abandoned, condemned and surplus properties. Grants can be used for site development needs including water, sewer, and parking. The program places a strong emphasis on projects in economically distressed communities.

New Western New York Based International Trade Manager for Global NY
Global NY, a division of Empire State Development, is designed to assist New York businesses  in expanding their presence in the global marketplace through various technical and financial assistance programs. The new International Trade Manager, Mo Sumbundu, is happy to work with companies and economic development partners including not-for-profit organizations, chambers of commerce and industry associations. Mo has worked with Empire State Development in other roles and is familiar with the needs of Western New York companies.
